What do Shelton’s spring flower baskets and Christmas decorations have in common? They are both programs supported by the Shelton Mason County Chamber of Commerce to beautify our community.
The business community and individual sponsors have taken the responsibility for the majority of the costs associated with the installation and upkeep of the 75 flower baskets, 100 streetlight banners, and 65 Christmas decoration sites. In addition to donations made towards the collective project, flower baskets may be sponsored for $200 each. That $200 offsets the cost of materials and maintenance for the season – and citizens may choose to sponsor a basket in memoriam or in honor of a loved one.
The committee’s fundraising effort is now underway. Members of the committee will begin contacting businesses, service organizations, employee associations and reaching out to the greater community to assist with financial support to install and maintain the 75 flower baskets and 100 street banners. There is a tremendous cost associated with beautifying our community and because this is such a large and important community-wide project, the Chamber is asking for everyone’s involvement.
If you would like more information on this effort or would like to donate your time or money to these valuable community projects, please contact the Chamber at info@sheltonchamber.org or (360) 426-2021. Please send any financial contributions to the Chamber’s office at PO Box 2389 Shelton, WA 98584.
