Congratulations to Forrest and Amy Cooper of Cooper Studios, 2009 Business of the Year. Within 1 1/2 short years of opening their photo studio, the Coopers have already demonstrated that winning combination of altruistic service to fellow business owners, exciting and creative business product and store front presence that adds beauty and vitality to the downtown Shelton core. All these qualities were reviewed and judged by area service club presidents to be the essentials necessary to claim honors as Business of the Year. With 11 businesses nominated for this prestigious award, it was a tough selection and all nominees are congratulated. Our best wishes and appreciation to Forrest and Amy for being a standout example of a business poised for success in the new millenia.

Bob Buhl Duane Wilson Michelle Corral
Also, recognized at Thursday's Awards Banquet were co-recipients of the 2009 Citizen of the Year Award, Bob Buhl and Duane Wilson. Both honorees were recognized for their humble, tireless efforts on so many projects that make Mason County a caring and vibrant community.
Michelle Corral of Heritage Bank was awarded 2009 Chamber Volunteer of Year. Michelle was hands down winner not only for the quality of service she provides to the Chamber but for the sheer volume of effort given. Sometimes I wonder if she every gets any sleep. She has been an invaluable right hand to me as I navigate my way to learning how the Chamber operates and it was the Chamber staff's privilege to be given the honor of selecting her as this year's winner.
Congratulations to all and thanks for making Mason County a very special place.
